National Geographic

What are the pros and cons of being a Photojournalist?

Pros would be that you get to travel the world and just get to see so many different cultures, being able to go to every place in the world and live in that culture and be able to see what they live like and capture photos of them for everyone else to see. Some of the cons would be like if you were in a jungle all of the insects and some of the places you have to go you may not be as comfortable with. I'm sure you get loads of money which is pro cause you'd be very wealthy. Cons are most of your pictures may not get into the magazine.

What skills does a Photojournalist need to have?

Some of the skills that you need to have would be being able to be adventurous or not having a fear of getting sick and being ok with having to travel all the time and not sit down for months at a time, to have to get out of your comfort zone to be able to get that picture to get it in the magazine. You'd have to know a camera very well so like no swaying and knowing the right aperture that you need for that lighting, just being able to know what you need on the camera for the shot your about to take.
